(Sermon for the celebration of Saint Markella and Saint Maria Magdalene)

Introduction

Saint Markella of Chios celebrates today!  Today Saint Isidoros, patron of your village, celebrates as well since Saint Markella is his sister.  Both, as you know, come from Chios.  
 The saints are like us. 

-When our friend or relative celebrates, don’t we celebrate too?

-Yes.

-When a friend, relative or fellow villager happens to be celebrating, don’t we go to greet him?

-Yes.  We celebrate all together.

The same occurs in heaven.  In heaven, all the saints are one family.  Each one loves the other.  It is not like here on earth where one person may hate the other.  In heaven they are all one family.

Jesus wants to tell us:

How do you come and take Me as Holy Communion when you ignore My will?

Many times you approach in a showy manner, although you do not accept to repent with humility, or feel ashamed to confess your mistakes.

Have you ever imagined a greater humiliation than the one I suffered when they took off My clothes, when they dishonored Me, when they swore at Me and when they put  Me up on the Cross in the most disrespectful  way? Is there a greater humiliation than this?”

When have you ever suffered such humiliation?

Jesus says to everyone: I want you to change your way of life and know this.

If I had allowed the Devil play tricks on you, he would have done great damage to you. But I made sure that you have other great powers to help you in your spiritual life. 

The power of angels and saints whom you must beg and ask for help.

«Very few people felt My Pain and accepted Μy Resurrection…»

"Christ is risen!"

"Truly, He is Risen"

Many times, Jesus says, I tell my children that I have risen from the dead, but nobody answers me. They do not answer me! They do not believe in My Resurrection!

During Holy Week, they saw me suffering on   the Cross, but very few people felt compassion with My Mother. There were very few who suffered with Me. There were very few who felt My pain as their pain and My sorrow as their sorrow.

However, in the Resurrection Liturgy many came with their candles to say «Christ is risen» and then left the church. I had been waiting there for their soul to light their candle with My light, the light that never ends, but they left…They did not wait to attend the Divine Liturgy. They glorified Me only by half. They started to sing a prayer of love to Me, but then suddenly stopped. You see, they have become accustomed to the influence of Satan, who does not let them think reasonably.

Introduction

“I base all my hopes upon you, Mother of God, I beg You, keep me under your protection”. What is the deeper meaning of these words?

My All-Holly Virgin Mariam (Panagia), it’s you to whom I trust all my hopes.

She replies to us in a secret way:

“I don’t protect you, my children, just because I am the Mother of God, but because I am your Mother, too. I adore you and I love you, in the same way I love my own Son. I feel pain for you and I protect you just like I have always done with my Son. I love you in the same way I love Him because you are His own children. You are His own scenty flowers. If you have an accident or if anything sad happens to you, my Son, Himself, becomes really distressed and so do I, seeing Him so sad. Every single pain of yours, every single distress of yours immediately becomes pain and distress for my Son, too. Every single pain and distress of my Son, then, is my own distress, as well, because we all are a family. A Holy family; our Father in Heaven, His Only Son, me and you all. For this reason, every time you get in my Son’s hug, you get in the hug of Heaven. Whenever you get away from my Son’s embrace, you get away from the embrace of Heaven. This is the moment when I am scared. This is the instance when I feel pain for you. This is the moment when I am very distressed because I don’t know how spiritually prepared or not the Evil will find you. I don’t know your exact spiritual situation when the dark forces of Evil will come to meet you, in an attempt to both confuse your mind with dark thoughts and distress your soul and your body, as well.
